Keeping in mind that the communications panel was very much enjoyed by attendees at last year’s symposium, our third panel at this year’s conference is focused on “Art, Activism, and Climate Change.” Art and activism are increasingly being used in tandem to uplift the stories of many communities and clearly communicate the urgency of climate change. We also recognize that art can help us build a vital bridge between science and society.

Given the theme of the third panel, the OCC will be hosting an Art Exhibition during the afternoon break. We invited undergraduate and graduate-level students in the fine arts to submit artwork with a focus on climate change adaptation and resilience. Preference was given to artwork that showcases positive changes that have resulted from climate change.
