Work has just begun with researchers from the Laboratory of Mathematical Parallel Systems (LAMPS) based at York University, to identify and validate extreme weather indicators pertaining to agricultural production and rural resiliency for two case study areas in Ontario. This research is being supported by the OCC in collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) to produce information that will contribute to a multi-year project focused on developing and modeling adaptive management responses to extreme weather and climate change in two rural communities in Ontario.
