At the Spring 2017 Public Lecture being hosted by the McMaster Centre for Climate Change, Dr. Dianne Saxe (Environmental Commissioner of Ontario) will be giving a talk on climate change in Ontario – the critical thresholds that have been exceeded, the province’s current greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and what the government is doing to reduce emissions. Although the province took great steps towards GHG reductions this past year, the Environmental Commissioner’s 2016 Annual GHG Progress Report contains several recommendations to help the government avoid some major pitfalls.
